The high-end solution for discriminating customers – a further development of the pyramid profiled foam absorber – is an acoustic panel with tapered structure. It offers a large number of unbeatable characteristics in terms of acoustics and flexibility, which makes it very popular with mechanical engineers, technicians and vehicle/ship builders.

These acoustic elements are distinguished by their high absorption values, combined with extremely high flame resistance (fire protection classification DIN4102 B1 without acoustic heavy foil lamination) and chemical resistance! The sound absorbers can be used in almost any technical area where increased fire protection or chemical resistance is required.

Among other things, the SH0051 MH acoustic panels from aixFOAM are very successfully used for machine insulation, in soundproofing cabins for machinery, for sound insulation in shipbuilding and rail vehicle building. The acoustic panels can be used very flexibly. Our latest-generation CNC cutting plants guarantee manufacturing to the highest technical standards.
Thanks to its open-cell pore structure, the acoustic foam is very lightweight. It also has outstanding heat insulation characteristics and high sound insulation capacity.

Chemical resistance
As a duroplastic material as per EN ISO 175, SH0021 MH is resistant to many substances. Because of its highly networked structure, SH0051 MH is resistant to all organic solvents. For acids and bases, resistance must be checked on a case-by-case basis, since the foam’s resistance to these substances strongly depends on their temperature, residence time and concentration. Strict fire protection standard required?
Fire protection classification DIN4102 B1 (without acoustic heavy foil lamination) makes approval during fire protection inspections very easy.

aixFOAM self-adhesive backing
Here, an acrylic-based adhesive is mechanically applied to the reverse side. In order to improve its stability, the adhesive film is then covered with a scrim of threads, and then with liner paper. The consumer simply removes the paper and installs the sound absorber in the proper place. This adhesive system, optimized over many years, is odorless and features extremely strong initial and final adhesion. The adhesive’s temperature resistance is between -40 and +90 °C.

aixFOAM assembly/suspension cassette
These offer you an extremely high-quality mounting option. The aixFOAM cassettes are made from anodized aluminum, and turn any aixFOAM product into a premium absorber. The aixFOAM assembly/suspension cassette allows the sound absorber to be integrated into existing machine structures and attached to aluminum-profile or other support structures. In this way, self-supporting machine housings can be realized at a reasonable cost.
This option allows you to mount the absorber on edge, at a right angle or suspended from the ceiling, and of course also to disassemble it at any time. The aixFOAM assembly and suspension cassette comes equipped with your choice of aixFOAM absorbers. Alternatively, you can find the assembly/suspension cassette as a separate, individual product in various packing units under “Accessories.” You will also find our aixFOAM vibration bolts or, alternatively, the aixFOAM suspension system for professional installation here.
From a physical perspective, in addition to their static support task, aixFOAM assembly and suspension cassettes are able to absorb deep acoustic frequencies thanks to the „counter-vibration effect“, thereby significantly increasing the absorption level of your chosen aixFOAM sound absorber in the low frequency range (resonator) and increasing its acoustic effect.. aixFOAM acoustic heavy-duty film lamination
A heavy, very flexible mineral-filled film without reinforcements. Acoustic heavy-duty film has an above-average surface weight, which absorbs low frequencies and material vibrations. The composition of the acoustic heavy-duty film gives it outstanding insulation properties, even at low temperatures. In addition, the material is flame-resistant, and is hidden under your chosen aixFOAM basic product. Alternatively, you can also buy SH0131 aixFOAM acoustic heavy-duty film as an individual product (see item overview).

Processing instructions Acoustic Heavy Foil
aixFOAM Acoustic Heavy Foil is equipped with a specially developed acrylic based adhesive system. The adhesive system must be used only on flat surfaces at macro level, e.g. sheet metal and aluminium. On rough surfaces the adhesive system can be used as mounting asssistance only. Further information is available in our technical datasheets and processing instructions, which could be send free of charge upon request.
