Acoustic elements - How many absorbing elements do I need?

In machinery construction or vehicle construction (boats) sound control with acoustic elements for example is always essential; this means that the aim is to reduce the sound emissions of a specific sound (e.g. of an engine) as effective as possible. In so doing, you have to differentiate between control of noisiness and improvement of acoustics. This is made possible by completely coating the engine compartment or the enclosure of the machine with, preferably high, absorption bodies (material thickness).

In the section of room acoustics the aim of sound control is usually the reduction of the reverberation time and the resulting reflections which means sound attenuation. This is can be attained by purposefully attachment of individual sound absorbers on the walls and on the ceiling.

A suitable percentage of the surface in the room (sum of the floor, walls and ceiling) should be coated with our sound absorbers to achieve a hearable reduction of the reverberation.

You can find several configuration options under the menu item “Applications”.
