Our acoustic elements with flat surfaces are distinguished by a large number of unbeatable characteristics, in terms of both acoustics and appearance. High sound absorption values combined with an elegant exterior and the best possible flame retardance make them extremely popular with planners, creative workers and acoustic engineers.

Because of their very good fire protection and outstanding acoustic characteristics, the ceiling and wall-mounted aixFOAM acoustic panels are perfect for applications in modern architecture, but they also perform very well in recording studios, offices and discotheques, at trade-fair booths and in numerous other areas.

Thanks to its open-cell pore structure, the acoustic absorber is very lightweight, and it also has outstanding heat insulation characteristics. Our latest-generation CNC cutting systems also guarantee manufacturing at the highest technical level.

Strict fire protection standard required?
These acoustic elements with flat surfaces meet fire protection classification DIN4102 B1 and thus facilitate approval during fire protection inspections.

aixFOAM self-adhesive backing
For assembly using self-adhesive backing, the reverse side of the absorber is mechanically coated with a solvent-free adhesive system and covered with liner paper. Simply pull off the liner before adhering.

aixFOAM assembly/suspension cassette

The aixFOAM assembly/suspension cassettes offer you an extremely high-quality assembly option. Made from anodized aluminum, these cassettes turn any of our products into a premium absorber. This option allows you to mount the acoustic elements horizontally, vertically or suspended from the ceiling. They can be disassembled at any time.

The aixFOAM assembly/suspension cassettes come equipped with your choice of absorber. Alternatively, you can order the cassettes from us separately, as individual products in various packing units, under “Accessories.” You will also find our aixFOAM vibration bolts and the aixFOAM suspension system for professional assembly here.

Our assembly and suspension cassettes not only offer outstanding visual characteristics, they also absorb deep sound frequencies thanks to their “counter-vibration effect.” In this way, they also increase the absorption level of your chosen sound absorber in the low frequency range (resonator), and increase its acoustic effect. You can find more information in the article on aixFOAM assembly/suspension cassettes under “Accessories.”

Format options
Each of our architectline products is available in various material thicknesses and in the associated packing units.

The aixFOAM acoustic elements described here are always manufactured on an order-by-order basis because of the large number of options we offer. That allows us to provide each customer with a customized sound absorption product that is tailored to the customer’s specific needs.

Thanks to their wide absorption spectrum, the aixFOAM acoustic panels can be used in many different areas. Their flat surface creates ideal acoustic conditions in large rooms like hotel foyers, discotheques and indoor swimming pools.

The ideal applications are in areas with high fire protection requirements.

Some of the most important potential applications:

Sound insulation for/ in:
  • rehearsal rooms, music rooms, rooms with public traffic
  • Schools, daycares and churches
  • Offices, conference rooms, call centers and open-plan offices
  • Commercial spaces
  • Trade fairs and exhibits
  • Discotheques
  • Auditoriums
Acoustic insulation in:
  • Industrial or plant halls
  • Workshops
Sound protection in:
  • Hotel foyers
  • Ice rinks and indoor swimming pools
Noise reduction in:
  • Gymnasiums

Assembly tips

When mounting the absorption panels, we recommend using a shadow gap, which leaves three to five centimeters of space between the individual elements. This not only has a positive visual effect, but also assists the acoustics thanks to the additional edge absorption.

The absorber can either be integrated subtly into the room or used as a prominent design element through a clever interplay of colour and mounting options.

One popular option is arranging varying material thicknesses on a wall or ceiling without any joints between them. Both acoustically and visually, we recommend a checkerboard-style installation, with two colours if you prefer, of two different thicknesses (e.g. 50 and 80 mm).

The SH001H MH suspension solution or a suspended acoustic element offers another interesting option for any acoustical planner.
