Water resistant acoustic absorbers for moisture exposed technical applications

Reliable sound insulation even in damp and wet conditions

Water resistant acoustic absorbers have been specially developed for applications where moisture, condensation or splash water continuously affect the material. They are ideally suited for machines and systems, ventilation and air conditioning technology, pool technology as well as pool and heat pump systems.

The closed cell material structure does not absorb water and reliably protects against moisture penetration. This ensures that the sound absorbing and thermal insulation properties of the materials are maintained over the long term, even under demanding operating conditions. At the same time, the materials provide effective noise reduction and contribute to durable sound insulation in technical applications.

Moisture management and energy efficiency combined in one material

An integrated vapour barrier reduces the risk of condensation and supports reliable thermal insulation. The low thermal conductivity minimises energy losses in pipes, air ducts, fittings and technical systems while improving their energy efficiency. This allows the materials to combine sound insulation, thermal insulation and moisture protection in one economical solution.

Sound insulation for outdoor pools and heat pumps

Pool pumps and heat pumps are often installed outdoors and are permanently exposed to moisture, weather conditions and temperature fluctuations. Water resistant acoustic absorbers are ideally suited for the sound insulation and noise reduction of these systems. They are resistant to splash water, UV radiation, mould growth and ageing and retain their sound absorbing properties even during year round outdoor use.

The materials are ideally suited for lining acoustic enclosures, pump housings, technical shafts and housings as well as for sound insulation of pool technology, filtration systems and heat pumps. They significantly reduce airborne noise and disturbing operating sounds, ensuring quieter operation. At the same time, they meet high fire protection requirements and are also used in ventilation and air conditioning technology, vehicle construction, shipbuilding and wherever moisture and demanding environmental conditions require a particularly durable sound insulation solution.

  • Moisture-resistant acoustic materials absorb very little water and therefore offer excellent durability in humid environments. This helps minimise the risk of material damage and supports protection against mould growth. However, the formation of condensation always depends on the overall construction, the environmental conditions and professional system design.
