The following overview provides key information about the material differences between our aixFOAM sound absorbers, including their acoustic properties, areas of application and special features.
Thanks to their high mass, the heavy foam absorption panels are ideal for low frequencies and significantly reduce material vibrations.
The composite foam made from 100% recycled material used is impressive thanks to its high load-bearing capacity, permanent elasticity and ease of processing and cutting. This makes the heavy foam ideal for a wide range of applications in the field of sound insulation and vibration decoupling.
For the targeted use of HEAVY Duty heavy foam for impact sound insulation, decoupling or structure-borne sound insulation, you will find further information and installation instructions in our technical articles:
The absorbers feature an attractive functional surface that glitters subtly in the light and are easily bendable, making them flexible to use. Typical of this basic variant are small, minimally visible cavities – enlarged pores that visually interrupt the fine structure of the material in places. These material characteristics are normal, do not constitute a quality defect and do not impair the acoustic performance of the absorbers.
The basic version forms the basis for efficient room acoustics. In addition, comfort and premium qualities with finer surfaces and a more sophisticated look are also available.
Compared to the basic version, these absorbers have a finer-pored and more uniform surface, virtually free of voids (enlarged pores). This gives the sound absorbers a higher-quality appearance and increases their acoustic performance. The dimensionally stable material is also flexible in use and sparkles discreetly in the light – for efficient room acoustics with a stylish appearance.
The Comfort variant represents the mid-range quality level and offers better acoustic performance and aesthetics than the basic version, while our premium absorbers offer even finer surfaces and maximum elegance.
The absorbers have an extra fine-pored surface that absorbs sound particularly effectively. The material is lightweight, dimensionally stable and colourfast, while the velvety surface subtly diffuses incident light and appears particularly homogeneous – almost like matt porcelain. Occasional cavities (enlarged pores) may occur, which are typical for this material; they do not constitute a quality defect and do not affect the acoustic performance.
Für die Schallabsorber unserer aixFOAM Green Balance Line For the sound absorbers in our aixFOAM Green Balance Line, we use an innovative raw material that significantly reduces the environmental impact of manufacturing. Production is carried out using 100% green electricity, meaning you benefit not only from the highest acoustic performance, but also from a 40 to 50% lower carbon footprint. Weitere Informationen finden Sie unter Green Balance Line*.
About the Green Balance LineUnsere Our premium acoustic absorbers comply with the highest fire protection class (DIN 4102 B1 / C-s2, d0 according to DIN EN 13501) without the addition of flame retardants – for maximum safety in every area of application.
* All information relates to raw material production and does not represent a complete product life cycle assessment.
Applies to Duromer acoustic absorbers in the colours architect white, white grey and night black. For sound absorbers in titanium grey, the switch to the new raw material is expected to take place in the course of 2026.
