Notes on measuring
To select your suitable door insulation set, you need the door leaf outer dimension. To do this, measure both the width and the height of your door leaf on the outside, i.e. on the side in the direction of which your door can be opened.

Door structure - Determining the outer door leaf dimension Measuring the outer door leaf dimension

Why do I ALWAYS have to specify the external dimensions of the door leaf?

The door leaf outer dimension is ALWAYS specified as the nominal dimension (standard dimension) for doors. It does not matter whether you want to attach your door insulation set to the inside or outside of the door leaf. If you decide to mount it on the inside of the door leaf (inside the door frame), you will receive your set from us shortened so that it does not rub against the door frame.

Mounting instructions
Always attach the absorbers in the direction of the sound source/noise source for optimum effectiveness.

In order to avoid the elements grinding on the frame when opening the door, the parts are slightly shortened at the factory, so that they should be glued all around with a distance of 1 cm to the outer edge of the door leaf. A shadow joint of 1 cm should also be left between the individual elements. Detailed instructions for installation can be found in the supplied installation instructions.

Absorption values

The measurements of the absorption coefficient were performed on PUR-ES acoustic foams from RWTH Aachen. All values refer to absorbers with a size of 100 cm x 50 cm and were calculated according to DIN 52212.

Sound absorber/ sound insulation in the reverberation chamber when determining the absorption values
Our aixFOAM sound absorbers have been tested for Hertz and pores in the reverberation chamber of renowned institutions such as RWTH University or the Technical University in Aachen. The sound absorption coefficients according to DIN 52212 stated above were calculated in extensive measurements.
